DNB's business principles ensure successful collaboration with all its stakeholders.
These principles include

1

Adopting a multi-operator core network (MOCN) model in addition to leveraging existing sites and fibre networks

2

Ensuring our supply-led rollout strategy of the 5G Single Wholesale Network (SWN) accelerates nationwide coverage and adoption

3

Helping MCMC licensees minimise their costs-to-serve with the SWN model through spectral efficiency and eliminating the need for assets duplication

4

Using the 5G SWN to encourage MNOs to shift away from infrastructure-based competition towards a more service-oriented business model

5

Catalysing 5G enterprise-grade application adoption and innovation by orchestrating the necessary ecosystem and multi-model support systems

The 5G network rollout is expected to cost RM16.5 billion in total over the next 10 years with tremendous benefits in store for the local economy.

RM4 billion will go to
Ericsson as the Network Equipment Provider (NEP), and roughly RM2.3 billion of this amount will remain in the country.
RM7.7 billion will be spent
on network infrastructure development for the next 10 years, which includes site rental for site owners and tower infrastructure companies, power supply and laying of additional fibre.
RM3.6 billion will be spent
on corporate and operating expenditure including staff costs, professional fees, data centre expenditure, insurance coverage, as well as marketing and promotional expenditure.
RM1.2 billion will be spent
on regulatory fees.

The adoption of 5G technology will be a key driver of economic growth in Malaysia. With an estimated RM150 billion GDP impact and 750,000 high skilled jobs created in 2030, 5G will drive efficiencies, increase productivity, and create new opportunities throughout the entire economy.
