Previously, we reported that the OPPO Pad 2 was spotted on SIRIM’s database, alluding to its potential release in Malaysia soon. Now, another OPPO device has been spotted getting certified by the national organisation for standards and quality: The OPPO A98 5G. 

First spotted by The Tech Outlook, the SIRIM certification showed that the device carries the model number CPH2529. Moreover, the listing confirmed that the approval was given just recently, on 28 March 2023 to be exact. 

Just like the Pad 2, A98 5G’s SIRIM certification was also applied by JIE BUSINESS SDN BHD. Given that both devices received certifications on the same day, it is likely that OPPO Malaysia will be releasing both devices simultaneously. 

Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, we just have to wait for the official announcement by OPPO to find out. Until then, make sure to stay tuned to TechNave for more tech news such as this!
