Following the signing of the 5G access agreement with Digital Nasional Berhad, Unifi Mobile (Uni5G) users can now enjoy unlimited 5G on its postpaid and prepaid plans. This makes TM the second telco in Malaysia to offer commercial 5G services after YTL Communications’ Yes 5G. Here are the 5G-enabled plans on Unifi Mobile which is now rebranded as Uni5G.

Uni5G Prepaid with unlimited 5G data pass

On prepaid, you can get 5G by subscribing to the Unifi Bebas Monthly pass which costs RM35/month. This plan provides unlimited data for 4G LTE for 30 days and TM is now offering an additional Unlimited 5G Data Pass for each purchase.

To redeem the pass, just launch the Unifi Mobile app, buy the “BEBAS Monthly” pass, and then click buy again to redeem the “Unlimited 5G Data Pass”. According to Unifi’s SMS, you must redeem the free unlimited 5G data pass within 72 hours.

Uni5G Postpaid with unlimited 5G data pass

Meanwhile on postpaid, 5G is enabled on its Ultimate Plan which offers unlimited calls, SMS and data for RM99/month. At the moment, the plan is offered for RM59/month with a 12-month contract or RM79/month without a contract. Do note that the plan has a 10GB LTE Hotspot quota each month and you can purchase more for RM8 for every additional 500MB.

Not all 5G devices are supported yet

Before subscribing, do take note that not all 5G devices are supported yet including the iPhone and the Galaxy S21 series. You can check if your phone is supported on the Uni5G page.

According to Unifi Mobile’s FAQ, the unlimited 5G service is offered as a user trial which will be available until 31st December 2022. It added that existing customers can use their current SIM and you can also use your phone as a hotspot with unlimited 5G data.
