KUALA LUMPUR, 26 OCTOBER 2023 – Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) today unveiled its state-of-the-art, My5G Portal, an immersive experience centre, nestled in the lobby of TRX Exchange 106. This innovative space was designed to showcase the digital future made possible by 5G connectivity, which delivers ultra-fast data speeds at low latency. Visitors would be guided on an experiential learning journey with over 50 use cases and solutions, spanning across 12 industry verticals such as healthcare, smart city and public safety, surveillance and security, manufacturing automation, logistics, mobility and retail.

Through this centre, DNB aims to show the true capabilities of 5G-powered technologies in the space of automation, artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR) and robotics, promoting the adoption of 5G among enterprise leaders in the public and private sectors, as well as the general public.

My5G Portal is a collaborative effort between DNB and its key partner, Ericsson, as well as an ecosystem of over 20 local and international solution partners. It serves as a catalyst for knowledge sharing, ideation, and co-creation, driving the advancement of 5G technology and its adoption on a global scale.

The experience centre was officiated by YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications and Digital (KKD), in an event witnessed by leaders from the ministry and related agencies, as well as the technology and telecommunications sectors, along with solution partners behind the use cases.

In his speech, YB Fahmi underscored how the experience centre reflects the critical role that 5G plays in driving the nation’s economic growth, creating employment opportunities and improving the rakyat’s quality of life. “Malaysia's median 5G speed is at 485.25Mbps, ranking us the fastest amongst Southeast Asian countries, or 3rd globally. These achievements are a testament to the quality and integrity of the world-class 5G network developed by DNB.

“My5G Portal demonstrates the Government's commitment to positioning Malaysia as a digital hub. The centre serves as a valuable resource for companies, the public services, academia and the wider public who are aiming to embrace 5G technologies. It is critical to recognise that 5G represents the foundation for the imminent technological revolution. Although the transition to 5G may have challenges, all stakeholders must embrace this platform and harness its potential."

In his welcoming remarks, DNB’s Chief Strategy Officer Datuk Ahmad Zaki Zahid said that My5G Portal provides a hands-on experience to demystify 5G and promote an appreciation of the technology. “The 5G use cases showcased are ready solutions, developed and put together by our partners that can help address industry pain points and allow enterprises to stay ahead. Additionally, the centre will also be a hub for fostering education and exploration by providing an ecosystem for communities to innovate and collaborate. Indeed, My5G Portal brings the ‘future’ today.”
