KUALA LUMPUR, 5 MAY 2026 – Shoppers, diners and visitors at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur can now enjoy seamless 5G experience indoors, following the activation of Digital Nasional Berhad’s (DNB) In Building Solutions (IBS). The enhanced indoor coverage ensures that mobile users on CelcomDigi, Maxis and Yes (YTL Communications) experience consistent, high-speed connectivity throughout the mall—even during peak shopping hours.</p>

This milestone reflects DNB’s commitment to complementing its leading-edge outdoor 5G coverage across more than 80% of populated areas with robust indoor connectivity at places that matter most, including malls, transport hubs, hospitals, offices and event venues—elevating everyday digital experiences for consumers and businesses alike.

Working closely with its shareholders, building owners and other partners, DNB aims to rapidly deploy IBS in major commercial facilities in the country. In addition to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, other malls are slated in the rollout pipeline as part of this important initiative.

The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur deployment builds on the 72 key sites already equipped with IBS, including KLIA, KLIA2, Senai and Penang International Airports, KL Sentral, Setia Spice Arena, KOMTAR, major hospitals such as IJN and PPUM, as well as Urban Transformation Centres (UTCs) across the country.

Indoor 5G coverage significantly enhances the user experience by delivering more consistent speeds, lower latency and higher reliability, enabling frictionless mobile payments, immersive digital retail experiences such as augmented reality, and uninterrupted connectivity even during peak periods.

Beyond consumer benefits, indoor 5G coverage is a critical enabler of enterprise transformation. It allows organisations to deploy advanced IoT solutions, large-scale automation systems and next-generation technologies, helping businesses raise productivity and service quality through robotics, smart sensors and other AI-powered solutions—especially in sectors such as retail, logistics, healthcare, manufacturing and smart buildings.

As Malaysia’s premier wholesale 5G network provider, DNB today carries over 80% of Malaysia’s total 5G traffic. DNB’s network performance has received global recognition from platforms such as Ookla, OpenSignal, Glotel, FutureNet and TM Forum.

Datuk Azman Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of DNB, said, “The activation of indoor 5G at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur marks another important milestone in ensuring Malaysians enjoy a truly seamless 5G experience—both outdoors and indoors. As connectivity becomes increasingly central to how people live, work and do business, it is critical that high-quality 5G is available at the places that matter most.

“Strong collaboration with our MNO partners, infrastructure providers and building owners has been key to this progress. We also appreciate the support of MCMC in spectrum allocation, which allows us to continuously optimise network performance and deliver world-class 5G services that support innovation, productivity and economic growth.”
