PUTRAJAYA — Sept. 20, 2022: The share distribution between Digital Nasional Berhad and four mobile network operators for the 5G rollout is expected to be agreed by the end of the month.

The four operators are Celcom Axiata, Digi.com, YTL Communications and Telekom Malaysia.

To facilitate the equity participation, the Communications and Multi-media Ministry and and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission will update some of the licence conditions for DNB.

This is especially on those related to company holdings, since it will no longer be 100% owned by the government as the majority of its shares will be taken up by the four, said  minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa in a statement.

The agreement was finalised and ready to be executed by all parties on August 30 but later needed to be redrawn after a last-minute decision by Maxis and UMobile to pull out.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Aziz has confirmed that the ministry would only hold a 30 per cent stake in DNB.
